Abstract
Basra is one of the most prestigious Islamic cities in its reality and its cultural heritage was a school of science schools and from its theories all this poured its effect on it which made it a station for the attention of many leaders who broke the rivers to revive its regions and established many regions became names on their name and also became a yard of political and military conflicts, which left the well-being of a prominent person in those conflicts and became the name of the city on the name of the welfare owner who later disappeared its true meaning and here it is necessary to study the historical names of Basra and the reasons for naming them which still retain the same names for the time being and the regions have not been mentioned Whose names have changed or that have recently been renamed.
