THE IMPORTANCE OF FIELD RESEARCH FOR HIGHER ISLAMIC STUDIES IN THE SERVICE AND DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIETY
Abstract
Most Islamic Studies Research today is focused on theoretical research not on field research that serve and educate the community. That is because due to the recommendations that it bears. It is may be difficult to those who believe that Islamic studies research is not only a theoretical one but has a link to the field exploratory research. This research will show the relationship of some of these research with some of the jurisprudence foundations such the link between blocking and opening the means with field research and other fields of research such social phenomena that are spread in Islamic societies such as women late marriage and other phenomena that threaten the safety of the community structure and threaten family stability. Such studies will result recommendations that Muslims scholars should use it to eradicate such phenomena. There are some other jurisprudence foundations topics is relevant to empirical research such as considering the aim in Fatwah. This should depend on Islamic heritage and the deeds of Al-Khulafa’a Al-Rashidin. The case study for this research is the theses of masters that I supervised in the faculty of sharia and law at Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University; it is an empirical study that serve and develop the community.
