The study aims to identify the role of lifelong education units at Sudanese universities for sustainable development. The qualitative method, content analysis and personal interview are used as tools for data collection. The study sample is six out of the thirty –six Sudanese universities. The researcher selects seven major fields of sustainable development: social development, economical development, environment and natural resources protection, training of the teaching staff , promoting awareness and knowledge, acquisition of skills and values and education for development of family, work and community. These fields are presented to the sample to see their sharing programs for sustainable development. The study results are : -Sudanese universities lifelong educational units have adopted an important role for sustainable development according to six fields ,with some variations. -Sample of the study have got various plans and programs to improve lifelong education.
