THE IMPACT OF APPLYING OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH SYSTEMS ON EMPLOYEES’ PERFORMANCE


The aim of this study is to identify the impact of applying occupational safety and health systems on employees performance, by identifying the commitment of the top management in applying these systems in companies, in addition to underlining the role of training and awareness of employees regarding to procedures and safe methods of performing work and increasing their productivity, As well to identify the reality experienced by companies in Jordan in terms of its commitment to the rehabilitation of specialists in occupational safety and health, therefore this field study on the Jordan Sweden Medical & Sterilization Co in Jordan has been made, While the sample size was 300 employees.

The study adopted two methods of scientific research methods, analytical descriptive approach and field research methodology, The descriptive statistical analysis of the data (arithmetic averages, standard deviations, percentages, repetitions) was used for all dimensions of the study, The results showed that the implementation of occupational safety and health systems directly affects the level of performance of employees, in addition to a strong correlation relationship between them, so that whenever the availability of occupational safety and health systems have a positive impact on the level of performance of employees and vice versa from the point of view of employees in the company, where the results showed that the dimensions of the study (job satisfaction, senior management commitment to provide occupational safety and health systems, employee training, accidents and work injuries, spatial and physical conditions) as the dimensions of the independent variable. The application of occupational safety and health systems explains 70% and the most important of these dimensions to the success of the application of occupational safety and health systems in raising the level of performance of employees is the commitment of the senior management to provide occupational safety and health systems, where he alone interpreted 22% of the impact in the dependent variable, and second variable is accidents and work injuries, The third is the variable of the spatial and physical working conditions, where 52% of the variation in the performance of the employees was explained with the previous variables, the fourth is the variance of the job satisfaction as it was explained with the previous variables 62% in the dependent variable, Ranked The last five variable training workers where explained with previous variables 70% of the variance in the performance of workers from the perspective of employees in the company.

The study recommended several recommendations that would help in the implementation of occupational safety and health systems and improve the performance of employees in companies, such as intensifying training courses for employees, establishing a specialized department for occupational safety and health and providing specialized supervisors to follow the occupational safety and health procedures within the company, Providing a safe, stimulating and safe risk-free work environment, adopting occupational safety and health regulations and regulations within international and local standards, conducting further studies and research focusing on the importance of occupational safety and health In raising the level of performance of employees.
