CONTRIBUTION OF SCHOLARS OF DEPARTMENT OF ARABIC LANGUAGE, BAYERO UNIVERSITY, KANO TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARABIC LANGUAGE IN NIGERIA


Bayero University Kano, is one of the famous University which has been fare front printing tertiary education in Nigeria. Before it became an independent institution in 1963, it used to be Abdullahi Bayero College under a faculty in Ahamdu Bello University, Zaria. One of the founding department when it was a college and when of become an institution of it own is the department of Arabic Language. The department has made a tremendous contribution in spreading and promising Arabic Language in Nigeria and beyond. It is aim of their study to five an insight into contributions of notable selves who are the productions off their citadel of learning in the area of Arabic language and literature. The paper is decided into four segments after an introduction. The first section gives and overviews on Nigeria Universities and their roles in promoting Arabic Language and culture. Establishment of Bayero University and department of Arabic language in particular one, focused in the serener of sections. In seafaring three, contributions of notable scholars of Bayero University to the study of Arabic Language in Nigeria are expatriated. Finding and conclusion are presented in last section.
