ATTITUDES OF FACULTY MEMBERS AT THE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AT JAZAN UNIVERSITY TOWARDS SCHOOL COUNSELLING SERVICES FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS IN PUBLIC EDUCATION IN JAZAN REGION


Abstract:

This study aimed to identify the attitudes of faculty members in the college of education at Jazan University towards school counselling services provided to students in public education schools in the jazan region. It also aimed to identify the attitudes of faculty members towards development counselling services, preventive counselling services, and therapeutic counselling services. The study sample consisted of (30) members of the faculty at the college of education at Jazan University, the researcher sample was selected randomly,and the researche used a measure of faculty members attitudes towards school counselling services, and the researcher followed the descriptive approach.

To extract the result, the researcher used the Pearson correlation, alfakrombach test, and one-sided T-test.

The study concluded with the following results:

  • The attitudes of the faculty member’s in the college of education at Jazan University towards school counselling services are positive.
  • The attitudes of the faculty member’s in the college of education at Jazan University towards development counselling services are positive.
  • The attitudes of the faculty member’s in the college of education at Jazan University toward preventive counselling services are positive.
  • The attitudes of the faculty member’s in the college of education at Jazan University towards therapeutic counselling services are positive.
  • In light of the results, the researcher made number of recommendation.
