THE EFFECT OF USING EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY (VIDEO CONFERENCES) IN EDUCATIONAL SUPERVISION PRACTICES ON IMPROVING THE PERFORMANCE OF EDUCATIONAL SUPERVISORS IN THE SULTANATE OF OMAN

Abstract :
Remote supervision via the Internet is one of the recent initiatives implemented by the General Directorate of Supervision in the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman in light of the Corona pandemic, which is mainly concerned with implementing a number of remote supervisory operations using video conferencing technology as a global component to facilitate supervision operations and often encounters The use of the new technology is difficult in the implementation process due to the difference in practice That is why this research aims to know the possibility of using video conferencing technology in supervisory operations from the supervisors’ point of view. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method, on an intentional sample consisting of (322) educational supervisors. To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire tool consisting of (10) statements was used. The results of the study showed that the general opinions of supervisors about video conferencing are as follows: The unanimity of the participating educational supervisors on the possibility of applying video conferencing technology in some different supervisory practices largely. The analysis indicated that the highest degree of approval, in the supervisory practice that can be implemented using video conferencing technology, which states “specialists in any educational institution are hosted by a group of supervisors or teachers without the need for his presence” is in the first place with the highest arithmetic average. The lowest degree of agreement was in paragraph (2), whose text is "Execution and Presentation of Exemplary Practical Lessons" with a mean of (3.37), and a standard deviation of (0.70).
