INTERNET ADDICTION AMONG A' SHARQIYAH UNIVERSITY STUDENTS DURING THE DISTANCE LEARNING IN THE LIGHT OF SOME VARIABLES

Abstract :
The study aimed to identify the level of Internet addiction among students of A' Sharqiyah University in the Sultanate of Oman in light of some variables (Gender, Specialization, Academic year). The researchers followed the descriptive approach to answer the study questions, where the study sample consisted of (410) undergraduate students at the university, The psychological scale of Internet addiction of Sayed Youssef (2011) was applied to the study sample, where the validity and reliability of the scale were confirmed. The results of the study concluded that the students' Internet addiction came to a "medium" degree, and the results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences between the level of Internet addiction and the variables (gender, specialization), but there is a relationship between Internet addiction and the variable (Academic year) in favor of Fourth academic year.
