Majeda Abu Alhija

Abstract The primary objective of this study was to explore the concept of intellectual security, its significance, and the strategies for its attainment. Additionally, the research aimed to investigate the role of educational institutions in fostering intellectual security among young individuals. The study employed a descriptive analytical approach, analyzing available references to derive various mechanisms. One of the key findings highlighted the importance of curriculum developers in activating the role of educational curricula to enhance intellectual security among young people. It emphasized the inclusion of values and principles that promote a sense of responsibility for one's security. The study suggested incorporating appropriate methods within the curricula to establish intellectual security, such as incorporating teachings of moderation and tolerance within the context of Islam. Furthermore, it emphasized the importance of presenting educational content in an engaging and attractive manner, accompanied by practical activities that allow students to deeply internalize these concepts and reflect them in their daily lives. Another significant recommendation was to equip young individuals with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary global issues, such as citizenship, human rights, and other emerging topics. This would help them navigate through platforms that disseminate ideas and ideologies that may compromise their intellectual security. Moreover, the study emphasized the need to train teachers on effective strategies for enhancing intellectual security through educational curricula. By equipping educators with the necessary tools, they can actively promote the principles of moderation and instill a sense of social belonging among students. In summary, this study sheds light on the significance of intellectual security and presents various mechanisms to enhance it within the educational context. By implementing the recommended strategies, educational institutions can play a pivotal role in nurturing intellectual security among young individuals.
