THE ROLE OF THE EDUCATIONAL COUNSELOR IN RAISING THE LEVEL OF FAMILY AWARENESS TO PROTECT CHILDREN FROM THE RISKS RESULTING FROM THE INDISCRIMINATE AND UNSAFE USE OF THE INTERNET IN NORTH HEBRON

Abstract The study aimed to identify the role of the educational counselor in raising the level of family awareness to protect children from the dangers resulting from the indiscriminate and unsafe use of the Internet in Hebron. They have awareness, and the validity and stability of the tool were verified, and a sample was selected using a simple random method. The study concluded that the role of the educational counselor in raising the level of family awareness to protect children from the dangers of the indiscriminate and unsafe use of the Internet in North Hebron came to a large extent. The study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05 ≥α) in the role of the educational counselor in raising the level of family awareness to protect their children in the North Hebron Directorate due to the variables of sex, years of service, and educational qualification. While it showed that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05 ≥α) due to the educational stage variable, and the differences came in favor of the lower basic school counselors. Based on this study, the researcher recommended that the Ministry of Education and the directorates pay attention to research and studies related to family protection for the dangers of the Internet, and holding periodic meetings for counselors to discuss the problems of students, especially the lower stage, and how to overcome them, and training on plans and programs to confront the dangers of the Internet and what it reflects on our students, and to find channels of communication Directly with the local community (parents).
